There is truth in the humorous adage that “Life is a difficult period of time.” The reason this is so is that the nature of life is change – and all change, even positive change (such as getting married, having a baby or getting a new job), is stressful. We may be surprised at how disoriented or anxious we may feel with these experiences. Other times we are surprised by the level of grieving we feel for things that we hadn’t thought we would miss so much (such as finishing a project)

I work with people to move through and manage the often baffling array of feelings that often come up with the “shock of the new”. In this way, change is not simply something to be endured – it can be an enriching and profound time of growth and an opportunity to get to know and trust yourself more deeply.
